May 2022 Newsletter

So much for the old saying…. April Showers bring May flowers! At our house its been a very cold and rainy May. None the less there is always work to do in the green house. Since our last meeting our mums have been potted up from 4 inch to 6 inch pots, we’ve culled our varieties to our “keepers” and the hardening off process has been stalled a bit due to the in-climate and lower than normal temperatures.

Our next ECA club meeting will be held, Saturday, May 14th at Volunteer Park Conservatory at 10 am.

Now the plant care really begins and as you will see by the May cultural notes we have a lot of information to cover.
There is some good fertilizer information at the end of the cultural notes. Take a look!

Thank you to all who supported the Evergreen Chrysanthemum Associations 2022 annual plant sale. We hope you are happy with your selections. We are a 401(c)(3) non-profit amateur garden club. Our organization has been sharing our passion for these uniquely beautiful flowers with our friends, neighbors and fellow gardeners in the greater Puget Sound region for 75 years. Your support ensures that we can continue our mission of propagating, growing and showing Chrysanthemums in our area for years to come.
