August 2022 Newsletter

Hi All,
I hope you are enjoying our beautiful Northwest summer. With the recent heat wave Steve and I are starting to see buds on our plants a week or so earlier than usual. Over the next few weeks we will be busy “taking the bud”

Our next ECA meeting is Saturday, August 13th at 10 am at Volunteer Park Conservatory.

If you have some early bloomers you can enter them in the Puyallup Fair Floral competition –
Puyallup Fair – September Sept. 2nd – 25th, 2022

Exhibitor/Entry Online Registration is due by 10pm, Mon., August 29th.

As the cultural notes state, August is a major growing month. We will be discussing “taking the bud”- a new concept for our novice growers. We will also begin preparations for the 75th annual Evergreen Chrysanthemum Association mum show which will be held October 28th – 30th at Volunteer Park Conservatory .

Puyallup Fair – September Sept. 2nd – 25th, 2022 – Enter any early blooms into the fair floral competition.

October 8, 2022 – 10am – Noon – Evergreen Chrysanthemum Association monthly meeting

October 28th – 30th , 2022 – Evergreen Chrysanthemum Association 75th annual chrysanthemum show at Volunteer Park Conservatory. Setup and and entry staging are Thursday, October 27th between 9 am and 2 pm

November 12, 2022 – Evergreen Chrysanthemum Association Awards Banquet
